Dr. Fauci says new data shows this is how long COVID-19 symptoms last

Dr. Fauci, the leading infectious disease expert, has announced that COVID-19 symptoms can last for this long in some people.

Many COVID-19 survivors experience symptoms long after the infection has passed, these people are called “long haulers”, or the symptoms are commonly referred to as “long Covid”.

According to the chief medical advisor to the White House, Dr. Anthony Fauci, who is also the nation’s leading infectious disease expert, people who are experiencing “long COVID” symptoms may have to live with them for up to nine months.

Dr. Fauci said on Wednesday that researchers from the University of Washington found that 30% of COVID-19 patients reported symptoms for as long as nine months after contracting the virus.

Additionally, Dr. Fauci explained that “The magnitude of the problem is not fully known”, and that the severity of the symptoms can range drastically, with some patients barely experiencing anything and some others finding their symptoms “incapacitating”.
