A transsexual teenager has spoken out against her attackers after she was called a “monster” and punched in the face twice as she tried to leave her home.
Eva Vildosola, 19, a transsexual woman, was attacked as she tried to leave her home in Barcelona on Friday November 20.
In an Instagram post, Eva said a group of people called her a “monster” and began to yell at her as she walked along the street.
She said she was then grabbed and punched in the face twice, as others kicked her all over her body.
The teen spoke out against the LGBT-phobic attacked and expressed the helplessness she felt shortly after, insisting that she is a “normal 19-year-old”.
Sharing images of her bloody face, Eva said: “Today I left the house and as soon as I left, I had not walked a block, they began to yell at me f****** travelo! Monster!
“I am a normal 19-year-old girl.”
Eva added: “I am a transsexual, yes, but that does not make me less normal, it does not make me a monstrosity, no It makes me less, I have the right to go out, I have the right to do with my social networks what I want and I have all the rights that everyone should have, I have spent my whole life trying to be what I am.
“Today was quite bad someone tried to take it from me.”
LGBT activists in Barcelona have said the fact Eva was “brutally attacked” is appalling and denounced the young woman’s attackers.
It also condemned the events and has made the observatory’s services available to her.
On its Twitter account, the observatory has detailed that it has activated the protocols it implements in these cases.
The group has also demanded “effective public policies” to end attacks like this one.
