Chester Bennington’s widow Talinda files for divorce from new husband after just a year

Chester Bennington’s widow has filed for divorce from her new husband after just over a year of marriage.

Talinda Bennington took to her Instagram account this week to confirm her divorce from Michael Fredman after she filed her divorce petition Wednesday in Los Angeles County Court, according to TMZ.

She married the LA County firefighter at the Turtle Bay Resort on the island of Oahu in Hawaii around New Year’s Eve 2019.

The couple tied the knot just over two years after Linkin Park singer Chester took his own life on July 20, 2017, at age 41.

In her Instagram statement, she wrote: “I am ready to announce that Michael and I have decided to move forward with our lives as friends.

“Divorce is never easy, but in our case it is for the best.

“We have remained good friends and he continues to be an important part of my children’s lives.

“Love and Loss is part of life and it’s even harder when you have to do it in the public eye.

“Thank you for your love and support and respect for our privacy at this time.”

Talinda and Michael got engaged back in April 2019 just under two years after Chester’s tragic death.

“I can find love after tragedy,” Talinda said while announcing the news.

She added: “To all suicide loss survivors, you CAN be happy again.

“You CAN have space in your heart for grief, joy, happiness, sadness and love.”

Talinda had no children with Michael, but she shares Tyler, 14, and twin girls Lily and Lila, 10 with Chester.

Chester was found dead at a private residence in Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles in 2017.

The police confirmed he had taken his own life.
