A Donald Trump supporter has sparked widespread discussion online after posting a lengthy and profane Facebook message sharply criticizing the president and announcing an end to his support.
In the post, shared publicly and widely circulated, the man says he voted for Trump twice but now believes he was deeply mistaken. He writes that he originally supported Trump because he believed in “a conservative, more fiscally responsible federal government and for a strong military to keep USA citizens safe,” but says that support has completely eroded.
“Whoever takes Donald Trump at face value (which is very little) is supporting a person who has no interest except for himself,” the post reads. The writer goes on to describe his past support as “like one of those Twilight Zone episodes where one signs their soul away to the devil.”
The post accuses Trump of being an “egomaniac” who “spews non-truths, half-truths and sometimes just plain old dumb ass words,” before turning to specific recent events that the author says pushed him to publicly speak out.
It’s been awhile since I invited back lash because of my personal opinions, but here goes. Whomever takes Donald Trump at face value (which is very little) is supporting a person that has no interest except for himself. I voted for the man twice because I believe in a conservative more fiscally responsible federal government and for a strong military to keep USA citizens safe. But that was like one of those Twilight Zone episodes where one signs their soul away to the devil. All I wanted the guy to do was set some things right for the USA but it’s been clear that he is an egomaniac. He spews non-truths, half-truths and sometimes just plain old dumb ass words. I’ll get to the chase. When Charlie Kirk was assassinated Trump basically brought the USA to halt to cross our hearts in sadness. However many Americans (including myself) did not see Kirk as some type of savior, but I had no issue with his right to freedom of speech. Now we come to what I believe is one of the WORST examples of what America stands for by a standing POTUS. Trump’s ranting about the tragic murder of Rob Reiner and his wife, which evidence shows is a sad story of a personal family issue and mental health, using this event to somehow convince people it as a result of politics. FU Trump. I was hoping many months ago you would STFU, but you insist on being an Ass Wipe. I will no longer support this bone head or inner circle brown nosers. Have a nice night.
The writer references Trump’s reaction following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, saying the president “basically brought the USA to a halt to cross our hearts in sadness,” while adding that many Americans did not see Kirk as “some type of savior,” despite supporting his right to free speech.
The most forceful criticism centers on Trump’s comments about the murder of Rob Reiner and his wife, which the post describes as “a sad story of a personal family issue and mental health.” The author accuses Trump of using the tragedy to “somehow convince people it was a result of politics,” calling it “one of the WORST examples of what America stands for by a standing POTUS.”
The post ends with an explicit rejection of Trump, stating, “I will no longer support this bonehead or inner circle brown-nosers.”
While it is unclear how widely the original post has been shared beyond its initial audience, screenshots have circulated across social media, where it has been cited as an example of frustration among some Trump voters.
The post comes amid broader polling and anecdotal evidence suggesting that portions of Trump’s past support base have grown increasingly critical, particularly over rhetoric, personal conduct, and the handling of national tragedies.
