Woman, 23, pleads guilty to manslaughter over house fire which killed mum

A woman has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of a mum who died in a house fire in Salford.

Courtney Brierley, 23, appeared over videolink at Manchester Crown Court this afternoon.

She entered a guilty plea to the offence of manslaughter of Michelle Pearson, 37.

Brierley, of HMP Send, will be sentenced at a later date, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Police and fire crews were called shortly before 5am on December 11, 2017, to reports of a house fire on Jackson Street in Walkden.

Michelle sadly died in hospital on August 25, 2019.

Zak Bolland, 26, and David Worrall, 28, are due to stand trial on Monday, March 15 charged with murder.
