Authorities in Prince George’s County have released surveillance images of two individuals believed to be involved in the knifepoint rape of an 18-year-old woman in Hyattsville earlier this month.

The incident, which occurred around 5 p.m. on March 4th in the 6000 block of Ager Road, was captured on surveillance footage. The footage shows the victim being followed by the two suspects before they forcibly took her into nearby woods near Sligo Creek, where the assault took place at knifepoint. Following the assault, the suspects were observed fleeing the scene.

The victim’s mother expressed the profound trauma her daughter experienced as a result of the assault, highlighting the devastating impact such incidents have on survivors.

Residents in the area have voiced concerns about safety, with one individual recounting frequent harassment by men in the vicinity, leading to a heightened sense of insecurity, especially during nighttime.

Law enforcement officials urge anyone with information regarding the case to come forward, emphasizing that they do not inquire about immigration status when individuals provide assistance in criminal investigations. A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for information leading to the identification and apprehension of the suspects.

The release of surveillance images underscores the importance of community involvement in aiding law enforcement efforts to bring perpetrators of such heinous crimes to justice. By soliciting the public’s assistance, authorities aim to swiftly apprehend those responsible and provide closure to the victim while ensuring the safety and security of the community at large.

In the face of such abhorrent acts, collective vigilance and cooperation are crucial in fostering a safer environment for all residents. As the investigation progresses, authorities remain committed to pursuing justice and holding those accountable for their reprehensible actions.
