Looking happy to be away from the spotlight in London, Nigella Lawson arrived in Los Angeles yesterday to begin shooting the second series of her cookery show. The 53-year-old has been keeping a low profile after her ten-year marriage to art collector Charles Saatchi ended last month.
But friends in the US said she was relishing the chance to get back to work, especially as she is less of a well-known face in America. Dressed down in tight-fitting black trousers and a black and white hooped jumper, she went unrecognised on a shopping trip for snacks at a store with an assistant after arriving at Los Angeles airport.
Her US show, The Taste, was recommissioned by the ABC network despite moderate ratings. The Channel 4 version of the programme begins filming in October.
