SHOWTIME’S ‘THE FIRST LADY’ HAS CAST SASHA OBAMA

Sanniyya Sidney who is famous for The Passage ad Fast Color will play the role of Sasha Obama in ‘The First Lady’.

The other cast includes Viola Davis as Michele Obama, Michelle Pfeiffer as Betty Ford, and Gillian Anderson as Eleanor Roosevelt. Sidney is also expected to be seen this year in Warner Bros. biopic King Richard as tennis superstar Venus Williams.

The other cast include Lexi Underwood as Malia Obama and role of Barack Obama will be played by O-T Fagbenle. Similarly, Jayme Lawson will be seen as young Michelle Obama and Young Barack Obama will be played by Julian De Niro.

Aaron Eckhart, Rhys Wakefield, Judy Greer, Dakota Fanning, Kristine Froseth, Derek Cecil, Aya Cash, Jake Picking, Cayden Boyd, Marc Hills, Ben Cook, Leslie Rodriguez Kritzer, Thomas E. Sullivan and Patrice Johnson Chevannes are some other actors who will be seen in different roles.

As per official description, The East Wing of the White House has experienced many authoritative decisions from dynamic first ladies. The season will revolve around three powerful first ladies: Michelle Obama, Betty Ford, and Eleanor Roosevelt.

The First Lady writers are included Aaron Cooley with Davis and Julius Tennon’s JuVee Productions, Cathy Schulman’s Welle Entertainment, Gaspin Media and Brad Kaplan producing. Showtime and Lionsgate TV are co-producers. Susanne Bier directs and executive produces.

The idea for the series came from Schulman, inspired by a spec script Cooley wrote about Lady Bird Johnson. The source material is based on public demand.
