This is what you can’t rely on about COVID-19 vaccines, says Dr. Fauci

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious disease expert, has said this is what you can’t rely on about COVID-19 vaccines.

In a recent interview with CNN, Dr. Anthony Fauci squashed some misconceptions about COVID-19 vaccines and what happens to your life after you get yours.

Dr. Anthony Fauci is the nation’s leading infectious disease expert and White House coronavirus task force advisor. Dr. Fauci recently appeared on CNN, where he said that just because you get a COVID-19 vaccine doesn’t mean you have a “free pass” to travel or to not participate in any of the established public health measures.

Additionally, Dr. Fauci also said that if you get a COVID-19 vaccine, you have “some degree of protection 10 days after the first dose”, but “you can’t rely on that”. The infectious disease expert continued and said that the “maximum immunity begins about 10 days and beyond following the second dose. That goes for anyone, regardless of whether you want to travel or not.”

So, if you have received a COVID-19 vaccine, it doesn’t mean you are automatically immune to the virus. It takes time for your immune system to implement the vaccine’s antibodies, which then create an adequate immune response that is capable of preventing a COVID-19 infection.
