states have recorded a big COVID-19 case surge

The United States recently experienced a surge of COVID-19 cases, and this is how many states recorded an uptick in new cases.

The US has been on a downwards trend for new COVID-19 cases for quite some time, but now things have taken a turn for the worst as cases have begun to spike once again.

Health experts and public health officials have expressed concern about the recent uptick in COVID-19 cases that have been recorded across the nation. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky only stated this week that she was “deeply concerned” about the current trends for COVID-19 cases, and pleaded with the American people to “please hold on a little while longer” to public health measures.

Over the last few days, the US has recorded more than 80,000 new COVID-19 cases, which is a number the country hasn’t seen since mid-February. Additionally, the seven-day-average for new COVID-19 cases is up by 7% when compared to the previous week. States that have experienced a particular sharp uptick in COVID-19 cases is Florida, as the state has relaxed restrictions and Spring Break is underway, and Massachusetts. In total 22 states have seen a surge in new COVID-19 cases.
