Prince William reportedly had significant arguments with his “step-sister” Laura Lopes over the impact their respective childhoods had on their lives. William, who was brought into the family of Queen Camilla’s children after her marriage to King Charles in 2005, had a strained relationship, particularly with Camilla’s daughter, Laura.
Laura Lopes, 46, who has previously accused King Charles of “ruining her life,” often clashed with William over their difficult circumstances. Queen Camilla shares two children, Laura and Tom Parker Bowles, with her ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles.
In Katie Nicholl’s 2010 book Harry and William, she writes, “William and Laura used to have terrible fights over who was to blame for their broken homes. William would blame Camilla for all the hurt she had caused his mother [Princess Diana], which would send Laura into a rage”, reported by the Mirror.
Laura, on the other hand, was not one to back down. As Nicholl describes, “Laura was not having any of it. She would take a hard line and fire back at William, ‘Your father has ruined my life,’” showing the depth of the tension between the two.
Despite their tumultuous past, both Laura and Tom Parker Bowles have been invited to join Prince William and the rest of the Royal Family for Christmas celebrations at Sandringham.
