Michelle Williams’ appeal to censors

Hollywood actress Michelle Williams has spoken out against US censors who have given her new film ‘Blue Valentine’ an adult certificate.

Williams is appealing against the NC-17 rating given by censors, saying it will limit the scope of the film. “Our film does not depict violence, rape or torture, it’s simply a candid look at the difficulties couples face in sustaining their relationships over time,” she said in a press statement.

The 30-years-old actress added, “The decision unmasks a taboo in our culture that an honest portrayal of a relationship is more threatening than a sensationalized one,” Michelle Williams is currently in London for her upcoming film “My Week with Marilyn” in which she plays Marilyn Monroe.
