Kate Winslet: Parents Divorce Good for Children

Kate Winslet

‘Titanic’ star Kate Winslet says divorce can be good for children because it helps teach them how to struggle. Winslet, 39, who has three children, said that she tried to turn negative experiences into positive ones and would not want to change anything in her personal life, such as her two divorces, reported Harper’s Bazaar UK magazine. “I think it is very important to teach your children to struggle on some level.[contentblock id=1 img=adsense.png]Kate Winslet

I would honestly say that I wouldn’t change a thing. Even all the bad bits,” Winslet said. “It doesn’t matter how many times have been, they all matter, because those things shape who you are. And if you don’t like who you are, well, then you are really, aren’t you?” She also attacked the idea that women have to regain their previous physique shortly after giving birth. “There is a big part of me – now, more than ever before – that feels a sense of responsibility for how other women view themselves,”[contentblock id=2 img=adsense.png]

She said. “Take having the baby, for instance. Have I actively been on a diet to lose my baby weight? No, I haven’t. I genuinely bloody haven’t. I so didn’t want to be one of those ‘Oh, wow, she’s back in shape after 12 weeks’ women. Life is just too short to be spending time focusing on things like that,” Winslet said. The Oscar-winning actress has a 14-year-old daughter from her first marriage, an 11-year-old son from her second and another young son from her current marriage to Ned RocknRoll, nephew of Richard Branson.
