Former FDA head drops grave warning about COVID-19 vaccines

Former FDA head Dr. Scott Gottlieb has dropped a warning about COVID-19 vaccines being ineffective against a COVID-19 strain.

The former chief of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned that vaccines may not protect people against a specific strain of COVID-19.

According to a former Food and Drug Administration chief Dr. Scott Gottlieb, the New York COVID-19 variant may still be able to infect people who have received a COVID-19 vaccination.

Dr. Gottlieb says that the New York variant may be responsible for the positivity rates of around 15% that are occurring in parts of Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island.

Additionally, Dr. Gottlieb said that now isn’t the time for people to drop any public health measures that have been put in place to reduce any spread of COVID-19.

In other COVID-19 news in New York, the State authorized pharmacies to administer COVID-19 vaccines to people aged 16-years and older with underlying health conditions that include the following; chronic kidney disease, pulmonary disease, and severe obesity.
