The diva isn’t letting a little injury get in the way of her style. Since she dislocated her shoulder, she’s appeared in several blinged-out arm slings to match her clothing. Not even a dislocated shoulder can keep Mariah Carey from being fashionable.
The diva walked the red carpet at “The Butler” premiere in New York on Monday with a black leather sling covered in silver studs. It complimented her black form-fitting dress and black headband nicely. The blinged-out sling covered a cast the 43-year-old singer must wear after injuring herself during a music video shoot with rapper Young Jeezy in early July.
“It was serious. Not only did she dislocate her shoulder; she actually cracked a rib and she … chipped her shoulder bone during the video shoot,” Carey’s husband, Nick Cannon, told the “Today” show. “She was in this nice beautiful gown, heels on and everything, and was kind of on this platform and reached and kind of slipped and fell on her whole side,” he added.
But it doesn’t stop the “#Beautiful” singer from staying on track with her commitments. Days after being released from the hospital, Carey appeared onstage on the great lawn in New York City’s Central Park for the Major League Baseball Superstorm Sandy benefit concert. She wore multiple fashion-forward slings that evening as well.
