Want your vampy lips to rock like Kylie Jenner’s, but clueless on how to make the trend school-appropriate? Dump the darkness that is dim and thick — this pout must be one’s face’s focus. Prepare to show minds on-campus.
Choose a lip color that complements your complexion. If you’re fair-skinned with a cool undertone, go for a blue-based formula — it shows up more purple on porcelain skin. If you have a darker canvas with a golden undertone, then warmer, brownish shades are ideal for you.
Line lips with a pencil that’s the same hue as your lipstick, or darker to create dimension. Start at the center of the bottom lip, using the tip of your pencil, and work your way out, then move on to the top, working from the corners in towards the cupids bow. Repeat for more precision, if necessary.
First, fill in bottom lip with lipstick; repeat on top, making sure both lips are saturated with color. Next, apply concealer to outside corners and edges to clean up lip-line; this helps lip pop more, too.
Blot with tissue to tone down shine and give pout a more matte finish. Remember, eyes are light and neutral — a smidgen of liner and mascara is all you need.
