Greatest tennis player of all time Roger Federer has been ranked world number one by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). He is a Swiss tennis player who has many record breaking winnings to his credit and is a true sportsman and genuine tennis player.

Roger Federer was born on 8 August 1981 in Binningen near Basel, Switzerland. He had Robert Federer recognition as Swiss national and Lynette Du Rand as South African. Therefore, he holds both Swiss and South African citizenship. Federer was subject to compulsory military service in the Swiss Armed Forces like all male Swiss citizens. Due to back problem he could not stand there long.
Before 1998 he worked as junior player at Wimbledon winning both the singles tournament over Irakli Labadze and in doubles teamed up with Olivier Rochus where he defeated the team of Michaël Llodra and Andy Ram. He also won four other ITF junior singles tournaments including the prestigious Orange Bowl and ended as the junior World Number One in 1998.

Federer’s first professional tournament was Gstaad in 1998 but his first final came up in 2000 at Marseille Open. He won Hopman Cup in 2001 representing Switzerland with Martina Hingis. And same year won Milan Indoor tournament defeating Julien Boutter. 2001 was the year he made his first Grand Slam quarterfinal at French Open and next he won his first Master Series event at the 2002 Hamburg Masters on clay over Marat Safin that made him a top-10 player for the first time. He made ten singles finals in between 1998 to 2002 of which he won four and lost six. Federer made six finals in doubles from 1998-2002.

After 2002 roger Federer’s dominance period started. He won first Grand Slam singles title at Wimbledon, beating Mark Philippoussis in 2003. He also won his first and only doubles Masters Series 1000 Event in Miami with Max Mirnyi and made it to nine finals on the ATP Tour and won seven of them, including the 500 series events at Dubai and Vienna. In end of 2003 Federer won the Year-End Championships over Andre Agassi.

In 2004 he won three Grand Slam singles titles for the first time in his career and year-ending championships for the second time. He won Wimbledon Championships in 2005 third time, three Grand Slam singles titles in 2006 again. He totally won 16 Grand Slam singles titles and a record of 5 ATP World Tour Finals and 17 ATP Masters Series tournaments. He also won the Olympic Gold Medal in doubles with his compatriot Stanislas Wawrinka at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games.
As a result of Federer’s successes in tennis, he was named the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year for a record of four consecutive years 2005–2008.

Roger Federer also has many endorsements in his life currently by Mercedes-Benz China extended into a global Mercedes-Benz partnership deal.

Roger Federer is all time leader in earning. He is a right handed tennis player with marvelous 237 consecutive week’s record of being number one by ATP.
