david haye the boxerCurrent WBA World Heavyweight Champion, David Haye has earned fame as English professional boxer due to his passion and hard work in boxing. It was the only factor that he believed on since childhood and thus became one of the top sportsmen of the world.

David Deron Haye was born on 13 October 1980 in Lambeth, London and started his involvement in boxing at old-school boxing gym Fitzroy Lodge Boxing Club where he won his first amateur bouts. He then participated at the 2001 World Amateur Boxing Championships that held in Belfast, Northern Ireland where he finished with silver medal by fighting in the heavyweight 201 lb division and beating world class Sebastian Kober.

David Haye started his professional career as a boxer in December 2002. He won 7 fights in 2003 and got popular in 2004 when he knocked down the ex-World champion “King” Arthur Williams in three rounds. He signed a three year contract with former Lennox Lewis promoter Frank Maloney in 2006 and continuously secured his EBU title against all participants.

Boxing champion David Haye had been an undisputed cruiserweight champion who has honor of holding the WBA, WBC, WBO and The Ring magazine cruiserweight titles. He won the WBA Heavyweight title with a majority decision in November 2009 over Nikolai Valuev . At the Manchester Evening News Arena by TKO he defeated John Ruiz in his first WBA title defence on april 3, 2010.

Amongst his 26 total fights, 25 fights credit David Haye as winner with only 1 loss in lifetime. In his upcoming plans is the heavyweight unification fight for the WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO and The Ringheavyweight titles against Wladimir Klitschko  that will take place on 2 July 2011 in Imtech Arena, Hamburg, Germany. Whereas he also has early retirement plan before he is going to be 31 years old.
